There was a DB error! Try refreshing...
Can we have that kind of error here? It makes things like exchanging messages about tomorrow's shoot much more fun and interesting.

There are new developments. It's almost laughable.
The banner and ads showed up on the main page with this at the bottom but nothing else on that page:
Incorrect information in file: './mm/threads.frm'

Let's be fair. The only reason the other site is having problems - they have already told us this - is because they implemented a new 18+POTD Contest and it crashed the site. Evidently this latest problem results from issues involved in pulling the Contest back down. And all future problems will also be related to that Contest.
It's really handy when what you want to do can be made to look like a necessity "for the greater good".
Hell, I'm not approved yet and need to post 4 pictures to have the GKs look me over
wtf
I am not even able to login there anymore... did they get a list of users who have defected and banned us all? lmao.... it is really terrible over there right now... well none of the threads are showing up, can't get logged in and can't view my photos..... hmmm but on the bright side I didn't get any "There was a DB error! Try refreshing in a few minutes" errors ...... roflmao
Loving the alternative.... I think I have found a new home

Had to read this thrice to get the full effect of the sarcasm. Hey admin is there a sarcasm smiley for us to use?
Serious question Is there a way to turn off the "someone else posted you may want to edit your post" and just let me post my pontifications without editing or hitting submit again?

Hey Roger, I wasn't aware that the new contest was what crashed the site. It was speculated, but I never saw it confirmed.
Did Brian or IB admit to the launch being the reason for the down time?

I received a PM from the new IB admins stating that the contest was responsible for the site crash and so they were suspending the contest indefinitely. They failed to mention that they pushed new advertisement codes at the SAME time.

Hmm, that's interesting, because on one thread they claimed that their facility was undergoing issues because of a power outage...lol.

What they actually said was that their offices had no power so they had no way to access their servers to fix the corruption.
Still, tho...

Uh, yeah. They are in LA...they should damn well have a disaster plan in case of fire, flood, earthquake, state running out of money, whatever.
A power outage is easy- contract with a hotel or data center for a room with a T3 and buy some laptops. I've been part of disaster planning and this is a standard thing to implement. Hell, even someone's living room with a cable modem would work as a stop-gap.

Hm?
How would the 18+ contest pull the site down but not the normal contest?

They didn't have a very good answer for that.

It's gods way of punishing those that show their bewbies. Everyone knows that bewbies will always crash websites. That's why there's no porn on the internet!

What are you thinking, girlie? We all know it's because the site doesn't have enough bandwidth and there are users who don't update their accounts.
<insert sarcasm smilie here>

I have been getting that message all night over at MM. I am really going to miss that

LOL, in just under 24 hours we've gone from less than 100 members (about 96 at 12:30 AM EST Sunday) to 236 as of 4:11 AM Monday.
That's good growth & numbers on a site that's not even officially OPEN yet.
So give us a little time.
