Top Location Shooting Question

Most of the shooting I've done has been in the studio (and mostly in the same studio). In May, I will be in Dallas and am arranging to shoot with a model at a rented location (The location is a former cotton mill north of Dallas. This will be my second shoot with this model, we shoot in March for the first time.).

I have seen discussion before about needing a waiver from the property owner/manager in order to use images for commercial purposes. Since I'm new to this (and especially new to the location part), I figured it best to put this question forward to people who have the experience to know the correct answer, especially if there is something I need to know about shooting in TX. (The location is friendly to nudity, which is one reason the model recommended it to me. I don't think she likes having to wear clothes.  big_smile )

Thanks,
George

You may have a problem with a trespass charge if you don't have permission to be there - but you don't need a property release per se.

Wait, I missed something.  Where does a tresspassing charge come into play at a rented location?

Or was the op edited?

My answer was, as is my wont, general rather than specific.  If he has a rented location, trespass wouldn't seem to be a problem.

Yes, since this is a rented location, there won't be problems with trespass or nudity. At a non-rented location, both of those could cause potential problems.
