Location Scouting Apps
A few weeks ago I was talking to a photographer and he mentioned an app called Map-A-Pic, designed by a photographer specifically for location scouting for shoots. Here's a link: http://mapapic.com/ It's $2.99 I believe on the Apple App Store (not sure what it runs for Android) and from what I hear is pretty cool.
Today I saw another posted on Facebook. It's called ShootLocal and is free. That one can be found here: http://shootlocalapp.com/
I plan on downloading ShootLocal (I location scout quite often), which has 4/5 stars and 8 ratings (many of which say "great start" and give some promising-sounding suggestions), but have to update my phone's OS first (I've been slacking on that like crazy).
Anyone use either of these? Thoughts?

Thanks for the info. Did some research and I'm going to try Map-A-Pic, because as you mentioned it was developed by a photographer, who just happens to be on another site I'm a member of.
I use ShootLocal and really like it. Easy, great user interface. If you watch their twitter feed, too, you'll see there are a lot of features in development. Blows Map-a-Pic away IMHO.
Hey, there. I know the head developer of ShootLocal... their whole team are photographers and filmmakers, in addition to being web guys. Super visual skills. They seem to know their stuff.
I use ShootLocal on my iPhone, I didn't feel like getting Map-A-Pic or whatever it's called considering I can get the same thing which is shootlocal for free .
I haven't played with the two mentioned here, but this one is pretty amazing. It may be similar to what the others do though...

I use one called GPS Memo. All I need is a location and whatever notes I want to leave for that memo. I think it's basic, free and does what I need without some useless features.
Evernote is a killer app and if you wanted, you could save images to a new entry with notes as well. It syncs with a desktop application if you want.
