Top Image / Portfolio Review

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to MI (Well, I'm at least not as active as some of you, I'm sure) and I thought I'd toss out an image for review/critique as well as invite a general once-over to the portfolio I've uploaded here.

In particular, this one. Thoughts?

Hey there Adrian, welcome!

I really like the image/pose, nice shot! IMO, and you can take that for what it's worth, the focal point is the baby's eye. I think you're losing it a bit because of the more intense lighting at the lower part of the image. I did a fast tweak here to show you what I mean. Hope you don't mind? You can now tweak it again to taste regarding the lighting intensity.

I also prefer Rick's edit  as its more smooth and has some distractions removed.
The headless mom  is still a problem for me,  I think I would have lit her to include her or crop  closer on the child.

I agree with the above. The lack of lighting up to the mother of the child in the shot throws me a bit. I would have liked to seen either the shot cropped in tighter or lighting to include her but overall the concept is nice.

Rick has the right idea, but I would take it further.  Seriously burn in that blue in the background, and add some flesh tone color back into the legs - they look grey.  Then burn the mother's arm, also.
