I'd like to review an earlier contest suggestion discussed a few months ago here and offer a critique and suggestions for improvement to the new Pic of the Month 18+ Contest now in it's infancy to make it and ALL the Contests far more cohesive and part of a single entity.

First off, let me state that I'm glad to see a new sitewide contest. That being said, in my opinion for what that's worth, it could be far more effective IF administrated a bit differently than it currently is. Instead of having the Contest in the format where all enter an image into it where it's run exclusive to itself, I think it'd have far more weight if the WINNERS of the POTD 18+ Contest for that week were all automatically entered into the Contest to be voted on sitewide. The winners from Sun-Sat of the PREVIOUS week, 7 contestants, can be voted on the following week. The additonal 2-3 days of winners in each month could be included in the previous week's Contest. The winners of the 4 weeks could then be entered the 1st wk of every month into the Pic of the Month Contest, again voted upon by site membership. And yes, the 12 finalists of each month could then be voted on an image of the year. This can be done in BOTH the POTD and the POTD 18+ genres. Why not?

I think it'd increase the participation in our two currently running standard contests, and the quality levels of the images submitted to the weekly contest would be assured to be of a high quality.

I would have rather seen a Model of the Week Contest done sitewide considering the name of the site IS Model Insider. The fact we can't make it fly within the threads and that the Photographer of the Week and the Artist of the Week have been anemic at best from day one would STILL be issues I'd like to address asap, now that Version II has been running for a while now. While my suggestion of tying it to a "List" was short sighted on my part, the basic framework for tying ALL the Contests into a cohesive whole is more than do-able and would increase the participation sitewide as well as the perceived bona fides of such wins. It would also give us something that no other modeling/photographer site has and set us apart as being unique. We always strove to be different than the other sites out there. Let's continue to keep that line of thought.

Can we not address this again and see if we can't get this rolling? It'd be nice to have all contests run as as part of a cohesive whole instead of being as disjointed as they currently are.
