Point and shoots with rapid-fire
The new Nikon point and shoot has a feature whereby it can take 5 photos in less than a second, even with flash. The idea: cameras are fast now and bits are free. It'll shoot 5 frames and the odds are that one of them will be better than the rest, just because of the "cast a wide net" theory. Much like amateur photographers will just shoot and shoot and throw away tons of crap to get that one lucky shot, point and shoot now capitalizes on this.
I posit that this is a good thing. Snapshots will get better. Bravo. My mom will take better pictures.
I also predict that the same douchebags who complain about amateurs shooting for free and taking away business from "we professionals" will complain even more now. They can cry me a river. I'll just step up my game.
