Top Advice Please! :) Critiques?!

Okay, Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Richard Delgado and I am new to model insider.

Basically, I have been told for the past couple of years now that I should consider being a model, but I had never actually followed through with it. Then one day, during a shoot to broaden the photographers port., I realized that I absolutely love doing this and cannot stop wanting pictures taken of me.  Thats when I decided to pursue it. I have done some freelance work here and there but nothing paid nor big. Basically I wanted the best pieces of advice anyone can give me on being successful in this industry.

I am the kind of guy that will pursue something and try his hardest and give everything hes got 110% of the time. I want to be successful so bad... I want to be able to help my parents financially because they have been struggling because they are deaf. Sign language was actually my first language. Anyway, Not only do I want to be able to help my parents financially, I want to do it by doing the thing I love to do the most, which is, modeling. Can you guys please give me an input? Do I have a look for modeling? What kind of modeling? What are the steps I should go about pursuing my dream?

Thank you,
Richard Delgado

I would suggest talking to a few of the male models here. find out what they know. Every area is a little different when it comes to options modeling. some areas are better for one type of modeling than others. Just find what you are genre you are marketable in, and where that market pays the best and you can make it. if you work hard at it. Nothing comes easy if you want to be successful.

I have to agree with John but I suggest you first do your homework on what type of modeling category fits your style...the last thing you want to do is talk to Matus about how to becoming a model (Matus is a body-builder model)
Practice makes perfect, always think outside the box, and try new expressions, emotions and feelings (I think they are all the same things but you get what I mean)

Test with photographers in the area, especially with the ones that are well known and have good reputations.

Push yourself; you do not always have to smile in pictures, you do not always have to look happy…give me something more!

Ok that is me ;p
Best of Luck
