How did you find Model Insider and what do you like best about it?
Can't remember how. Probably through some link somewhere. But I must admit I hardly ever use it, because there's almost no Dutch models on it..
What gear do you use?
I have a Canon 5D and 5Dmk2, but also still have my Hasselblad 500C/M and Canon A1 analog camera's. Wish I could use those more, but film is not very practical anymore, and so much more expensive. There used to be about 10 labs in Amsterdam to get film developed etc, now there's only one, on the outskirts, so that also doesn't make things easier.
What is your usual genre? Favorite genre?
I shoot portraits and nudes. Since 1999 I shoot for the Dutch edition of Playboy regularly. Favourite genres: same.
How do you find models to work with?
Through the internet, modelmayhem, facebook mainly. And through friends and other models. Or models e-mail me.
Do you provide styling and makeup? Do you work with a preferred MUA?
For Playboy I obviously work with MUA and styling, for my personal work I don't.
Where do you see yourself going in the next year, artistically and business wise?
I have no idea, economic times aren't great, helas... :-(
Do you shoot both in studio and on location, and do you have a preference?
Yes, both, but absolutely prefer location. Having to improvise with things that are there is a challenge. Outdoor locations can be great because you have a different background with every move that you make.
Do you have your own studio? If not, do you find this a limitation?
I have a tiny and very basic studio.
Do you travel?
Mostly only if I'm booked for shoots. Not very much for my personal work, helas, for budget-reasons.
